How can one speak of a man whose every fragment is a chapter of wisdom?<\/p>\r\n

How can one speak of Agha\u202fMehdi without leaving out a single moment of his life?<\/p>\r\n

Baqeri cannot be \u201cdescribed\u201d \u2014 he must be written, moment by moment, with the heart; read with tears; felt with the soul.<\/p>\r\n

When a fighter told him, \u201cI don\u2019t have time to read the Qur\u2019an, nor to reach Nahj al\u2011Balagha,\u201d Agha\u202fMehdi was shaken.<\/p>\r\n

He said, \u201cWe\u2019ve gone bankrupt\u2026\u201d He was that precise \u2014 as if from Khorramshahr to Kheibar, he balanced the accounts of this world and the Hereafter together.<\/p>\r\n

He would say: \u201cDon\u2019t eat into your capital\u2026 rebuild your savings of faith.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

How well he knew how to spend \u2014 he spent from the heart, from faith, from sincerity.<\/p>\r\n

To speak of his sincerity, you must go back to the floods of Urmia. To that moment when an old woman said: \u201cGod bless you; I wish the mayor had a bit of your honor,\u201d<\/em> and he did not utter a word to reveal, \u201cI am that mayor.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

Agha\u202fMehdi never sought praise, never sought the spotlight. He knew how to serve silently, without leaving a trace.<\/p>\r\n

One day, a young man came to the municipality saying, \u201cI need work.\u201d There was no budget, but Mehdi hired him anyway, halved his own salary, and gave the other half to the man.<\/p>\r\n

When was the last time we cut our own share so that another would not stumble?<\/p>\r\n

When did we do good without announcing it?<\/p>\r\n

When did we pray for good deeds to fall into our hands, but have their credit written under someone else\u2019s name?<\/p>\r\n

One day, he personally took a military vehicle\u2019s flat tire to be repaired. The repairman wasn\u2019t available, the apprentice wanted to close up shop, saying, \u201cI can\u2019t\u2026\u201d<\/p>\r\n

Agha\u202fMehdi sat by the roadside, washing the shop\u2019s dirty clothes himself so the man could fix the tire.<\/p>\r\n

It wasn\u2019t just his veins that carried honor; his hands, his heart, his dignity, even his pride were devoted to service.<\/p>\r\n

Agha\u202fMehdi was not only a division commander \u2014 he was the commander of hearts. He loved his men as much as he loved his own life.<\/p>\r\n

Now imagine how much he loved his Hamid\u2026<\/p>\r\n

One of the soldiers recalled seeing, under a Red Crescent tent, Agha\u202fMehdi with his hand under Hamid\u2019s head, and Hamid\u2019s hand under Agha\u202fMehdi\u2019s \u2014 asleep, side by side, like lovers.<\/p>\r\n

And when Hamid was martyred, Agha\u202fMehdi did not shed a tear, did not speak \u2014 he only said: \u201cLine up Morteza for the front.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

When asked why he would not attend the funeral, he replied: \u201cIf my voice has gone, should I go too?\u201d<\/p>\r\n

And so, he left Hamid on the battlefield of Kheibar and said: \u201cThey are all Hamid\u2026 which one should I bring back?\u201d<\/p>\r\n

Mehdi\u202fBaqeri did not become great by letting go of Hamid; he became heavenly by letting go of himself.<\/p>\r\n

At Badr, he reached a point where he no longer saw bullets \u2014 only Paradise.<\/p>\r\n

This is how they made Martyr\u202fBaqeri \u2014 from broken hearts, sincerity to the very end, and boundless love.<\/p>\r\n

If only we could learn:<\/p>\r\n

Not to consume the capital of our faith\u2026<\/p>\r\n
