Haj Hossein Yekta said: “The Friday prayer is not only a religious ritual but also a major cultural and social base in the provinces, and the Friday prayer Imam, as the commander of this base, plays a central role in guiding society.”
An educational and organizational gathering of the headquarters for holding Friday prayers on the topic of “The Essentials of Mobilization and Social and Popular Capacities” was held on September 3 with a speech by Haj Hossein Yekta.
In this meeting, referring to the position of Friday prayers in the Islamic system, Haj Hossein Yekta said: “Friday prayer is not only a religious ritual but also a major cultural and social base in the provinces, and the Friday prayer Imam, as the commander of this base, plays a central role in guiding society.”
He emphasized that Friday prayer headquarters must operate beyond an administrative structure and become a base for solving people’s problems in neighborhoods and cities. He added: “The Friday prayer Imam must be a refuge and reference for the people and act as the father of society in social and cultural problems.”
Haj Hossein Yekta, while recounting personal experiences, emphasized the importance of connecting Friday prayer headquarters with the mobilization, mosques, and popular forces, and said: “If this popular network is strengthened, it can reduce many of society’s problems and keep hope alive among the people.”
In another part of his speech, he considered a leap transformation in Friday prayer headquarters necessary and stated: “The statement of the Second Step of the Revolution will not be realized without transformation and a youth-oriented view in cultural and social structures. Friday prayer must become a base for connecting with the new generation through the energy of the youth, a jihadi outlook, and a civilizational approach.”
This cultural activist also considered the virtual space as one of the main battlefields today and emphasized that Friday prayer headquarters must use media capacity, social networks, and modern tools to convey the message of the Islamic Revolution to future generations.
Haj Hossein Yekta continued, referring to the importance of the role of Friday prayer Imams in the cohesion of society, and said: “If Friday prayer can be a sanctuary for the people and solve their problems, the enemies will fail in the soft war and cultural pressures.”
He said: “Friday prayer and jihadi culture must revive the same spirit of the night of operations and bonds of brotherhood in society; just as on the fronts, the youth removed problems with the bond of brotherhood and the spirit of sacrifice.”
Haj Hossein Yekta, referring to the necessity of youth orientation and attention to the capacity of the new generation, emphasized: “The Islamic Revolution was formed with the energy and uprising of the youth, and today, if this energy is not properly absorbed and guided, it will turn into a flood that can sweep away all structures. In Friday prayers, the field must be open for the presence of youth, associations, popular groups, and cultural institutions.”
This cultural activist also warned about the danger of arrogance and distancing from the people, saying: “Arrogance is the point of downfall. If the officials of Friday prayer headquarters consider themselves separate from the people, social capital will be lost, and this will be evident in the reduced participation of people in elections and public appearances.”
Emphasizing the necessity of transformation in the functions of Friday prayer headquarters, he added: “Friday prayer must be the base of cultural and social operations in the city. This base must, with the help of benefactors, popular institutions, and elites, become the axis of convergence and solving people’s problems.”
In another part of his speech, Haj Hossein Yekta referred to the conditions of the soft war and global developments, saying: “Today’s world is a world of scientific design, knowledge-based, and media. We must use the capacity of artificial intelligence, data, and social surveys for accurate understanding of society and planning in Friday prayer headquarters.”
In conclusion, addressing Friday prayer Imams and activists of the headquarters, he stated: “Friday prayer is the legacy of the Imam and the martyrs and must remain the center of hope, unity, and guidance for the Islamic Ummah.”
