Imam Rezaei Pilgrims at Post 447: From Hosseini Pilgrims to the International Stage

Over the past years, the international community of Imam Rezaei pilgrims has carried out extensive activities in the fields of social and cultural services, coinciding with the Arbaeen of Hosseini. Each year, this grassroots organization, with a fresh approach tailored to current needs, provides services to the pilgrims of Aba Abdillah al-Hussain (peace be upon him) along the Arbaeen walking route.

In 2019 (1398 in the Iranian calendar), in addition to activities such as cleaning the route and providing hospitality to pilgrims, this community took responsibility for assisting lost and stranded individuals in the cities of Najaf and Karbala

In 2022 and 2023 (1401 and 1402 in the Iranian calendar), the main focus of this group’s services was on the zero-point border area in Zurbatiyah, Iraq, one of the critical regions along the pilgrims’ route. In 2024 (1403), their services shifted to the field of health and hygiene along the route from Najaf to Karbala

During Arbaeen 2025 (1404 in the Iranian calendar), the Imam Rezaei Pilgrims’ Mokeb, stationed at post 447 along the walking route, provided extensive services to Hosseini pilgrims, including hospitality, accommodation, organizing mourning ceremonies, medical and repair services. A notable aspect of this year’s activities is the group’s special focus on the international domain

The Imam Rezaei Pilgrims began their international activities in 2023 (1402 in the Iranian calendar) and this year, by leveraging the capacity of social activists from various countries, they have set global-scale social engagement as a priority

The foundation of this year’s international activities is discourse-building to redefine the network of social activists in the contemporary world—a goal being pursued by establishing connections among cultural and social advocates from various nations

In recent years, under the leadership of Haj Hossein Yekta, the Imam Rezaei Pilgrims community has played an important role in discourse-building in the social and international arenas, and continues this path by connecting and unifying activists of this discourse at regional and global levels
